2004: Compiled a 3-3 record wrestling in open tournaments ... held his own against All-American Leonce Crump twice losing 1-0 and 4-0.

2003: Posted a 5-5 record while wrestling in open tournaments for the Cowboys.

High School: Vestal came to OSU from Yukon High School where he was a four-year letterwinner in wrestling and lettered three years in football ... Jon earned All-State honors in wrestling in 2002, and was also on the All-City first-team in football ... during the 2002 season, he went undefeated at 41-0 with 34 of his wins coming by fall.

Personal: Jon is the son of Daniel and Renee Vestal ... he was born on Nov. 16, 1983 ... is majoring in political science.
