2003: Posted a 10-6 record for the Cowboys while wrestling in open tournaments and a pair of duals ... he bumped up two weight classes in the Oregon dual where he defeated Tony Rolen, 3-0 ... Among his 10 wins, four of them came by fall ... he placed third at the Roger Denker Open and the Oklahoma Open ... he provided quality depth in the wrestling room and helped the Cowboys in the middle weights.
2002: Competed in open tournaments for the Cowboys, compiling an 11-7 record ... among his 11 wins, two came by fall and eight came by decision ... he placed third at the Cliff Keen Open ... Munson was named to the first-team Academic All-Big 12 squad and was the Top Academic Sophomore Wrestler Award winner ... he also notched his second OSU Academic Achievement Award ... he is a USAA All-American Scholar, and was chosen to the Dean's Honor Roll and Big 12 Honor Roll four times.
2001: Munson notched a 7-5 record while wrestling unattached for the Pokes ... Academically, he was the Top Academic Freshman Wrestler Award Winner and captured his first OSU Academic Achievement Award.
High School: Munson was a Kansas state champion and a four-time placer while wrestling at Arkansas City High School ... he was a runner-up his junior year and compiled a 112-19 record ... he also earned honorable mention All-America honors from Wrestling USA Magazine.
Personal: Brett is the son of Jerry and Virginia Munson ... was born on Dec. 7, 1981 ... he has two brothers, Scott, who wrestled for Nebraska, and Todd, who wrestled for OSU ... In his spare time, he enjoys fishing and tennis ... he is majoring in finance.
