Cowboys Prepare for a Trio of Duals this Weekend

The Cowboys are slated to wrestle Cal Poly and Fresno State at 5 and 7, respectively, on Friday night in Gallagher-Iba, before traveling to Iowa City, Iowa, on Saturday for a dual against arch-rival Iowa on Sunday at 1 p.m. inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
OSU and Cal Poly have faced off 20 times previously, with the Cowboys winning all 20 of them. The last victory for the Cowboys came during the 2002 season when they won 48-0 in Stillwater. The Cowboys also lead the overall series with the Bulldogs of Fresno State, 15-0. The last victory was a 40-0 blanking during the 2002 season in Stillwater.
The Cowboys and Hawkeyes have gone back and forth in the past but OSU has won six of the last seven to take the series lead at 19-16-1.
OSU is fresh off the Reno Tournament of Champions where it crowned six champions and 11 placers. The Cowboys captured its second-consecutive tournament title with 205.5 points, which was an unofficial tournament record.
Arizona state and Cal State Bakersfield rounded out the top three with 127.5 and 105.5 points, respectively. Boise State chipped in 83.5 points for fourth, while Cal Poly finished fifth with 79 points.
After the weekend, the Cowboys will prepare to wrestle at the National Duals Jan. 17-18 in Cleveland, Ohio.
