September 08, 2003 | Cowboy Football
DALLAS-Oklahoma State running back Tatum Bell has been named as the SBC Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week for games of Sept. 6 in voting by a select panel of media covering the Big 12.
Bell of DeSoto, Texas, had a career night in OSU's 48-24 win over Wyoming. He carried the ball 21 times for 215 yards and three touchdowns from seven, 30 and 16 yards. It was the first 200-yard rushing performance of Bell's career and equaled the 24th-best single-game rushing effort in OSU history (Barry Sanders had 215 against Oklahoma in 1988). It was the second, three-touchdown game of Bell's career, and the senior from DeSoto averaged 10.2 yards per rush against Wyoming. His 215 yards last weekend also gave him 2,425 for his career to move him past Bob Fenimore into eighth place on OSU's career rushing chart.
He currently leads the Big 12 in rushing, averaging 151 yards per contest.
