2002: In outdoor track, won the Crossroads Invitational in the 1,500m run " Placed 14th in the 1,500m run at the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 3:54.35 " Member of the Academic All-Big 12 first-team in both track and cross country " Opened the cross country season with a second-place finish at the Spiked Shoe Invitational " Was the team's second finisher in two other races, taking 13th at the Cowboy Jamboree and 26th at the Chili Pepper.
2001: Ran cross country in the fall " Was the Cowboys' top finisher at the NCAA cross country championships with a time of 31:26 " placed 13th at the District V Championships " Named Academic All-Big 12.
2000: In track, recorded a time of 8:30.42 in the 3,000m run and an eighth-place finish at the Missouri Invitational " Finished 11th in the 5,000m at the Tyson Invitational with a time of 14:49.39 " Finished the 10,000m at the Stanford Invitational in 30:35.36 " Recorded a time of 14:48 in the 5,000m run at the Big 12 Track and Field Championships.
1999: Finished fourth at the Wichita Gold Classic " Named Academic All-Big 12 first team " Member of the 1999 Cross Country All-America team.
High School: Was a multiple time league and regional champion in cross country ... Won a state title in the 3,200m run his junior season " Placed second in both the 1,600m and 3,200m runs his senior campaign " Came in third in the state in both the 3,200m and 1,600m runs his sophomore year and in the 1,600m his junior year " Four-time league champion in the 3,200m " Two-time league and regional champion in the 1,600m run " Ran the 3,200m in 9:19 and the 1,600m in 4:20 his senior year.
Personal: Born November 2, 1979 " Son of Larry and Terry Tate " Has two sisters, Melissa, and Lindsey " Also played basketball and soccer in high school " Chose Oklahoma State over Minnesota, Navy, Northern Arizona, and Kansas State " Favorite team is the Kansas City Chiefs, and favorite athlete is Chiefs running back Priest Holmes " Graduate student pursuing his master's in business management.
