Cowgirl Soccer Set For First Road Test

Oklahoma State's soccer team opens the regular season this weekend with a pair of games on the road. The Cowgirls will visit Western Kentucky Friday at 7 p.m. and Arkansas Little-Rock at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The Cowgirls are 5-2 overall in season openers and 1-2 on the road. In its season opener last year OSU defeated Oral Roberts 3-1 in Tulsa to kick off a 10-game winning streak.

Oklahoma State is 1-0 all-time against Western Kentucky after defeating the Lady Toppers 4-1 in Stillwater last year.

Against Arkansas-Little Rock the Cowgirls are 2-0 all-time. OSU shut out the Trojans in both meetings, winning 3-0 in 1997 and 4-0 in 2001.

Oklahoma State tied 22nd-ranked SMU, 2-2, in its exhibition contest last weekend. Kim Graves and Jolene Schweitzer picked up the goals in the contest on assists from Schweitzer, Nikki Wojtowicz and Alison Vaughn.
