Cowgirl Soccer Ties SMU, 2-2

SMU got off to a quick start, scoring a pair of goals in the first 17 minutes. Jill Heinemann was the first to score, finding the back of the net with a free kick at the 10:49 mark. Adria Campbell then upped the lead to 2-0 on a cross from Kim Harvey just over six minutes later.
The Cowgirls then held SMU without a shot for the next 28 minutes and added two goals of their own to enter intermission tied at 2-2.
With 25 minutes left in the first half, Jolene Schweitzer drew SMU goalkeeper, Amanda Clark, out of the net and passed off to Kim Graves who connected for the goal.
Three minutes later Schweitzer evened the score after heading in a corner kick that was passed from Alison Vaughn.
Neither team was able to capitalize on opportunities in the second half. The Cowgirls out shot SMU eight-to-five in the final 45 minutes and registered four corners to the Mustangs two.
Erin Corbin collected two saves while going the duration in net for Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma State opens the regular season next weekend, visiting Western Kentucky Friday at 7 p.m.
