Sky Rylant

Sky spent the spring in competition with Cole Farden for punting chores, and will go into the 2003 season as a backup at that position. Has game experience and shown he can be very effective. He gives the Cowboys a talented duo at punter. Also proved valuable as holder in extra point and field goal situations.

2002: Rylant punted 11 times last season, racking up 462 yards. He averaged 42 yards a kick with his longest being 53 yards against Louisiana Tech. Against the Bulldogs, he punted six times for a total of 275 yards. He had one touchback and placed three others inside the 20. Rylant was the holder for the first six games of the season.

High School: Lettered four years as a quarterback and punter at Temple High School. Was all-area, all-district and honorable mention All-State for coach Don Craig. Also lettered four years in baseball and four years in basketball and was all-district in both.

Personal: Born Jan. 29, 1981, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Sky is the son of Andy and Donna Rylant. He has one sister, Jenna. Sky is majoring in political science at Oklahoma State.
