2002: Wakefield served as the backup at right tackle behind Jason Russell and saw action in five games.
2001: His redshirt season at Oklahoma State.
High School: Wakefield was listed as a second-team All-State player on the offensive line by the Daily Oklahoman and was a top-30 Oklahoma prospect according to First Down Sports. He was named as the District Lineman of the Year and earned first-team All-Big City honors. Wakefield was named as El Renos team MVP his senior season. He was also recruited by Kansas, Colorado State and Tulsa.
Personal: Born Nov. 6, 1982, Matt is the son of Brad and Charlotte Wakefield. He has two sisters, Brooke and Stacy. He is majoring in agricultural business at Oklahoma State, and lists camping, fishing and swimming as his main hobbies.
