2002: Phillips was a third-team All-Big 12 pick by the coaches. He converted 11-of-16 field goals his junior year and 55-of-56 extra points. Was 1-of-2 against Oklahoma, converting from 40 while missing from 43. Missed on his only attempt from 56 yards against Baylor. Tied a school record for most extra point conversions in a game with nine against Kansas. Was successful on a 35-yard field goal against Texas Tech. Attempted two field goals against A&M, one was wide from 49 yards and the other was blocked from 35 yards out due to a high snap. Kicked a 45-yard field goal against Nebraska. Missed his first career extra point, which was blocked due to a poor hold, against Texas while connecting on a 39 yarder against the Longhorns. Connected on a 46-yard field goal against SMU and was a perfect 7-of-7 in extra-point attempts. Was successful on his lone FG attempt of 22 yards against UCLA. Connected on a 37-yard field goal against Northern Iowa. Lone field goal attempt of 46 yards was blocked against Louisiana Tech, snapping a streak of seven consecutive makes.
2001: Lou Groza Award semifinalist in 2001, and one of the best kickers in the country. Phillips was solid, if not spectacular. He was Oklahoma States leading scorer with 72 points. He connected on 15-of-17 field goals, including a long of 52 yards, which he hit twice in OSUs 16-13 win over Oklahoma in Norman. Phillips was perfect on 27 extra-point attempts. He finished third in field goals in the league, behind seniors Tim Duncan of Oklahoma and Colorados Jeremy Flores.
2000: Did not see any collegiate action.
1999: His redshirt season at OSU.
High School: Honorable mention All-State at Metro Christian in Tulsa. Lettered three years in football, four years in basketball and four years in soccer.
Personal: Born Dec. 10, 1980, Luke is the son of Doug and Patsy Phillips. He is majoring in marketing at Oklahoma State.
