Oklahoma State Signs Five Players

Signing with the Cowboys are: Mamon Tucker from Austin; Texas, Toby Rhodes from Oklahoma City, Okla.; Nicholas Scott from Plantation, Fla.; Jeffrey Herrmann from Chandler, Okla.; and Matt Roney from Edmond, Okla.
Tucker comes from Austin High School, where he has lettered three years in baseball. He was also named academic all-district and District MVP, and he was named to the All-State team. Last season, he batted .402 with 45 RBIs.
Rhodes is from Putnam City North High School. He has lettered three years in baseball as a center fielder, two years in basketball as the point guard, and one year in football as a wide receiver. He was named player of the week in May for his play in the 1997 Junior Sunbelt Series in Vernon, Texas.
Scott comes the Cowboys from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale Fla. He has lettered four years in baseball and three years in football.
Herrmann is from Chandler High School. He is a four-year letterman in baseball and football, and a three-year letterman in basketball. In baseball, he was named to the Little All-City team twice and the all-conference team once. As a pitcher, he has amassed 334 strikeouts with an ERA of 1.58. He has 29 wins and 11 losses with 10 saves to his credit.
Roney comes to Oklahoma State from Edmond North High School, where he lettered three years in football and twice in baseball. As a pitcher, he has a perfect 10-0 record with a 2.14 ERA, with 107 strikeouts. Batting-wise, he has a .550 average, eight home runs and 47 RBIs.
