Oklahoma State Baseball Shuts Down Texas Southern, 8-0

Watson had a no-hitter through four innings before Texas Southern catcher David Bell wrapped a base hit to left field to open the fifth. Watson struck out seven batters and notched the first win of his OSU career
Nebasett Brown opened the scoring with a inside-the-park homer, the first homer of his career, to give the Cowboys a 1-0 lead.
OSU added another run in the fifth extending the lead to 2-0. The Pokes broke open the game in the eighth with six runs as the Tigers pitchers combined to walk six batters in the inning and 16 in the game.
Matt Rutledge picked up his first save in a Cowboy uniform and allowed just two-hits while striking out six in four innings of work.
Jimbo McAuliff and Brown led the Pokes at the plate with two hits apiece while Luke Scott chipped in with two RBIs.
Oklahoma State improved to 20-14 with the win while Texas Southern dropped to 17-25 on the season.
The teams will be back in action in the final game of the two game series Wednesday at 3 p.m.
