Lindquist Dominates 1,000m Run During First Season Appearance
June 04, 2003 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
Lindquist, a junior All-American, finished the race in 2:53.24, giving her the first place honors. In 1998, Lindquist was the Big 12 champion in the mile run, and was named the cross country "Newcomer of the Year."
Freshmen Sara Kofed and Valentina Medina had their first season appearances today as well. Kofed finished seventh in the 600-yard run with a time of 1:33.70. Medina placed fourth in the mile run in 5:06.99. Medina was two seconds ahead of Senior All-American Sara Wells, who finished the race in 5:08.80.
Freshman Shalay Thomas performed well in the triple jump. Her 36'11.00 mark was good enough for a fourth place finish.
The Cowgirls will return to action next weekend at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
