Cowboy Golf Travels To Ardmore For The Maxwell
May 09, 2003 | Cowboy Golf
The fifth-ranked Cowboys are coming off a second-place showing at the Big 12 Championship last month and are one of 15 teams that will compete at the par-70, 6,442-yard Dornick Hills Country Club. The 54-hole tournament will consist of 36 holes on Saturday followed by Sundays final round.
OSU will be led by 2003 Big 12 Player of the Year Hunter Mahan, who enters the event fresh off a 13-stroke victory at the Big 12 Championship at Tulsas Southern Hills Country Club. The Cowboy junior will be looking to extend his school record for consecutive tournaments under par to eight.
Joining Mahan in the Cowboy lineup will be true freshman Chris Clarke, junior Pär Nilsson, sophomore Alex Norén and redshirt freshman Zack Robinson.
Three OSU players; senior J.C. DeLeon, redshirt freshman Stewart Dodson and sophomore Dayton Rose will compete in the event as individuals.
The tournament will be the final regular-season event for the Cowboys before they travel to Manhattan, Kan., on May 15 as the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Central Regional at Colbert Hills Golf Club.
