Wells Honored With Postgraduate Scholarship

in 2000, Wells was an All-American and All-Big 12 selection for Catrina Acosta's cross country team. She was runner-up in the 5,000-meter at the 2001 NCAA Indoor Championships. She recently finished fourth in the 10,000-meter at the 2001 NCAA Outdoor Championships. The psychology major from Salina, Kansas is expected to assume a graduate career in dentistry.
Wells was also named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team and she was named to the commisioners honor roll. She has contributed much of her time to community service while being a Phi Theta Kappa honarary society member, as well as a Golden Key Honoree at Oklahoma State.
Requirements to be eligible for the award are: a grade point average of 3.5 or better, at least two years of competing in intercollegiate athletics, and completing one's athletic eligibilty. Honorees have fifteen months to graduate and another two years to enroll in graduate school.
