Cowgirl Track Performs Despite Storm

The Cowgirls swept the Top 5 positions in the 3,000-meter run. Siri Alfheim won the event with a time of 9 minutes, 32.17 seconds. Alfheim was followed by teammates Valentina Medina, Alexandra Lindquist, Paula Gowing and Janine Brown. Catherine Clifford and Sharalee Sparks also finished ninth and 10th, respectively.
Stephani Duff won the long jump with a personal best of 19 feet, 8.75 inches despite a torrential downpour. Melissa Ndibilo came in seventh with a distance of 18-03.75.
"Everybody who competed yesterday was about 70 percent. Once we start speed training you will see some far distances and some fast times," assistant coach Clint Whitaker said.
Laurel Catlett-King finished twelfth in the javelin with a distance of 91-02.
The Cowgirls next meet is the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
