Oklahoma State Handles Texas Tech 11-7

Scott Baker picked up the win by working seven effective innings and allowed three runs, none of which were earned, while striking out eight to improve his record to 10-4.
Tech starter Nathan Fouts was credited with the loss and fell to 4-6 on the season.
OSU improved their season record to 31-21 and 13-12 in the Big 12, while Texas Tech dropped to 29-24 and 7-17 in conference play.
OSU extended the lead in the fifth with two runs in the fifth. Matulich hit his second RBI single of the game and Kenny Hansley added an RBI single to give the Pokes a seven run advantage.
Texas Tech took advantage of an error by centerfielder Jose Virgil to get on the board in the home half of the fifth. Leadoff hitter Josh Haney hit a fly ball to the wall in centerfield that popped out of Virgils glove and Haney took third on the play. Christian Colonel came through two batters later with a single to right. T.J. Bruce added a two-run single to cut the OSU lead to four.
Virgil extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a triple to center and Josh Fields followed with a sacrifice fly to push the lead back up to five.
Lyndsey Simmons added a two-out RBI single in the seventh to give the Cowboys a six run advantage.
The Red Raiders mounted a comeback in the bottom of the eighth. Cowboy reliever Cody King walked the first two hitters he faced and Haney followed with a three-run homerun. Colonel doubled off the wall
