Fulcher Named Assistant Track Coach
May 16, 2003 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
Fulcher, a graduate of the University of Illinois, is in her fourth year of coaching at the Division I level. She comes to OSU from Virginia Tech where she spent two years coaching sprints, hurdles, jumps and multi-event athletes. She helped the Hokies to both the 1997 Indoor and Outdoor Atlantic 10 Conference Championships.
Prior to Tech, Fulcher coached both men and women sprinters and hurdlers for a year at Illinois State.
At Illinois, Fulcher was an extraordinary athlete in her own right. She was a five-time NCAA All-American, and a six-time Big Ten Conference Champion. In 1990, she ran in the Goodwill Games in Seattle and in 1989, placed second at the USATF National Championships in the 400m hurdles. She was ranked by Track & Field News among the top five 400m hurdlers in the country for three consecutive years.
"You can't say enough about Victoria Fulcher," said Acosta. "I expect great things from her this year. She has been there, done it and she will teach others how to do it."
