In the finals of the 200m run, she finished fourth with only three other women in the nation running faster in Lakeisha Backus of Texas, Petra-Gaye Dowdie of LSU and Debbie Ferguson of Georgia who finished first through third respectively.
In the process of earning her All-America honor, Jackson broke her Cowgirl school record.
Jackson's time of 23.25 in the finals broke her 200m indoor school record that she set in the prelims and finals of the 1997 indoor national championships. Her prelim performance over of 23.47 just an hour and half earlier places her in the fourth all-time best Cowgirl spot.
"It feels pretty good earning my second All-America," said Jackson. "I knew what I had to do to do well. I went there and took care of business."
"We could not be more ecstatic for Sherita," said Assistant women's coach Victoria Fulcher. "We knew she was ready to run that fast but she just needed the competition."
Jacksons experience over the weekend makes her determination for a successful outdoor season stronger. She does not have much time to enjoy her success because she will be joining the rest of her Cowgirl teammates Saturday Mar. 21 at home when they host the Oklahoma State Duals opening the outdoor track and field season.
