Nebraska Rallies Past Oklahoma State 8-7

NU scored two runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to claim the victory. Joe Simokaitis got the rally started with a single. Matt Hopper walked to put runners at first and second for pinch hitter Brandon Fusilier. Fusilier came through with a triple that went off of Jose Virgils glove in center to score the game winning run.
OSUs record dropped to 30-19 and 12-10 in Big 12 play, while
Shane Hawk took the loss in relief and dropped to 6-3 on the season. Patrick ONeil evened his record at 1-1 for
The Cowboys scored first off of Cornhusker starter Aaron Marsden. Mario Matulich singled up the middle and took second on a wild pitch. Scott Kirby drove Matulich in with a single to leftfield to make it 1-0.
Josh Fields cut the
OSU took the lead in the top of the seventh. Kirby doubled to left center and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Brian Kraft singled through a drawn infield to score Kirby and even the game at four. Jose Virgil added an RBI single to give the Pokes the lead.
NU pinchhitter Joe Gullion gave the Huskers the lead in the eighth with a double down the left field line that scored Matt Hopper and Ledbetter.
OSU responded in the ninth with two of their own to take the lead. Chris Gutierrez led off the inning with a walk and Jose Virgil followed with a double into the left centerfield gap to score Gutierrez from first. Virgil stole third and scored when cather Matt Wells throw went into leftfield.
