April 09, 2003 | Cowboy Baseball
Oklahoma State outfielder Carlos Gautreaux added another postseason award to his resume after being named a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) second-team All-American.
Gautreaux, a first-team All-Big 12 selection and a second-team GTE Academic All-American, lead the Big 12 in hitting with a .400 average this season.
He is the 48th Cowboy baseball All-American in a list that started with Joe Buck in 1951 and includes most recently Lamont Matthews, Billy Gasparino. Josh Holliday and Matt Smith, all of whom received All-America plaudits in 1999.
Gautreaux tied Arizona's Ben Diggins for the second team utility position and was one of seven Big 12 athletes to receive the national award.
