FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Oklahoma State's women's soccer squad closed out its spring season last weekend with a 1-1 tie against Arkansas and a 3-0 win against the Hurricane '86 club team in Fayetteville, Ark.
The Cowgirls tied Arkansas in the opening contest of the day behind a first period goal from Jolene Schweitzer. The Ladybacks scored in the second period and nearly took the win with a goal late in the game, but an offsides call nullified the goal.
"The Arkansas contest was disappointing," said head coach Karen Hancock. "We had several opportunities to extend our lead but could not finish and let UA back in the game in the process."
In the second game of the day the Cowgirls controlled Hurricane '86 and cruised to a three-goal win. Seniors-to-be Kim Graves and Joanne Edwards both tallied a goal in the final spring game of their careers.
Graves earned the game-winner in the first period and Jere Boykin and Edwards contributed the remaining goals after intermission.
Kendra Rainbolt and Erin Corbin split time in net for Oklahoma State. Rainbolt earned the start against Arkansas and Corbin against Hurricane '86.
