Update on Oklahoma State Football Scheduling Issues
April 08, 2003 | Cowboy Football
"This is a very difficult time for our entire country," Phillips said. "The Oklahoma State University Athletics Department is extremely grateful for the understanding our loyal fans have displayed in the wake of this week's tragic events."
Phillips said he continues to be optimistic the game with Northern Arizona will be rescheduled.
"We are working closely with officials at Northern Arizona to make arrangements to play the game this season," he said. "In the event the game cannot be rescheduled, we are also exploring all possibilities of scheduling another opponent."
Phillips said the make-up game will likely be scheduled on one of OSU's two open dates - Sept. 29 or Nov. 3. He said it is important that Oklahoma State find a way to play another home game this season.
"We believe our players, fans, alumni, season ticket holders, the Stillwater community and all supporters of Oklahoma State University want us to play another home game this season."
Phillips said he hopes to have the schedule resolved as soon as possible. If a game is rescheduled, all tickets for Saturday's game will be honored.
"We will keep the communication lines open with all supporters of Oklahoma State," he said. "Our hope is to resolve this situation quickly."
