April 08, 2003 | Cowboy Football
A total of 152 league players were honored with first or second team status, including OSU's Eaton who earned the distinction for a second straight year. Eaton, a redshirt sophomore from Rogers, Texas, was one of five league players who were nominated with a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
Other OSU players named to the first team were senior kicker Seth Condley and sophomore offensive lineman Dustin Vanderhoof. Named to the second team from Oklahoma State were sophomore Chris Gray and senior Russ Schwettmann.
Like Eaton, Schwettmann has now appeared on the academic list two straight seasons.
To qualify for the team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 grade point average or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters. Players must have participated in 60 percent of his team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
