Cowboys Sweep Doubleheader Against Kansas

Jimbo McAuliff powered the OSU hitting attack in the first game with a pair of homers, the second one a three-run shot in the seventh which put the Cowboys up 11-9. McAuliff ended up 3-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Kevin Lucas aided the Cowboy offensive surge with a 3-for-3 performance with a solo homer, two doubles and two runs scored.
Jeremy Krismer picked up the win with five solid innings of relief. Krismer gave up three runs on seven hits and struck out six to move to 3-0 on the season.
Thom Dreier pitched eight innings of six-hit ball in the nightcap and allowed only one run while striking out eight to move to 5-2 on the season.
Josh Holliday and Trevor Leu each hit home runs in the fourth as the Cowboys took an early 4-0 lead. It was the 10th homer of the season for Holliday and his third of the series.
Kevin Lucas added a solo home run in the fifth and Billy Gasparino scored on a wild pitch to give OSU a 6-0 advantage.
The Jayhawks managed to score only one-run in the bottom of the fifth after scoring a combined 20 runs in the first two games of the series.
Oklahoma State moves to 29-10 overall and 11-7 in Big 12 play while Kansas fell to 10-30 on the season and 4-20 in conference play.
OSU will be back in action on the road Tuesday at 6 p.m. CDT when the Pokes take on Atlantic Coast Conference power North Carolina State in the first of a two-game series in Raleigh, N.C.
