Baseball Battles Big XII Foe

In the first game, Iowa State scored a run in the first inning off an RBI single by Matt McDonough that scored Jeff Duncan.
Oklahoma State would rally seven runs in the bottom half of the inning, off seven hits. In the inning, the Cowboys posted three doubles and four hits. In the game, OSU collected four doubles.
The Pokes would later rally a pair of runs in the fourth with Marc Fournier hitting a two RBI home run that gave the Cowboys a 9-1 lead.
Oklahoma State scored in the seventh with Tony Roossien hitting a solo home run.
Iowa State rallied five runs in the in the eighth and ninth innings highlighted with Jade O'Brian hitting his 10th double of the season and McDonough blasting his eighth home run of the season.
In the nightcap, Danny Prata pitched eighth and two-thirds innings striking out four Iowa State batters.
Iowa State began the game by walking three OSU batters in the first inning that scored a run. ISU would later score a run in the third to tie the game at one with Brad Bjorklund scoring.
Oklahoma State took five runs in the fourth inning with a two-out rally capped off with a Tony Lucca three run blast over the right field fence. The Cyclones came back strong in the sixth with Bill Uelman hitting a solo shot over the right field fence.
In the eighth inning, Tom Wierzbicki ripped his first triple of the season down the left field line and later scored.
With the pair of wins, Oklahoma State is on a 12-game-win streak.
The Cowboys and Cyclones will play game three tomorrow April 22, at 2 p.m.
