JOPLIN, Mo - Despite cold, windy conditions, Halee Prickett qualified for the regional track and field meet in the shot put at the Sports World Track and Field Classic held in Joplin Missouri.
"I knew she would not have any problems throwing the standards. She has been hovering around the mark all year", said Coach Kim Whitaker.
The regional meet will be contested in Lincoln, Nebraska on May 30.
In another event Alison Erzinger won the 400 dash and Kendra Love, in her first appearance as a cowgirl, won the bronze metal in the discus.
The women's track and field team will compete next at the John McDonnell invitational meet April 12.
