Cowboys Hold First Major Scrimmage of Season

Backup tailback Jamaal Fobbs led the rushing attack by recording 58 yards on 12 carries, while Nathan Simmons added 11 carries for 51 yards and one touchdown.
Linebackers Kenyatta Wright and Joey Webb each returned an interception for a touchdown, Wright's a 28-yard return and Webb's a 38-yard return. The defense also had seven sacks, including one by Wright.
Freshman B.J. Tiger led the passing attack with 74 yards on 2-of-3 passing, including a 60-yard TD strike to Marcus Jones of Stillwater. Preseason All-American Alonzo Mayes scored on a 19-yard touchdown pass by Tony Lindsay, while fullback Kevin Brown added a two-yard TD run.
The team will take Sunday off before begining three-a-days on Monday. Starting Wednesday, practices will be closed.
