Kevin Williams Selected Ninth Overall By The Minnesota Vikings

Kevin Williams, a 64, 304-pound senior, entered the 2003 NFL draft after coming off an impressive year with Oklahoma State and an eye opening outing at this years Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. Williams was a first-team All-Big 12 pick his senior year after compiling 61 tackles including 14 for a loss and 7 quarterback sacks. He currently is fifth on the OSU all-time sack list with 18.5 credited to his name. He ended his career at OSU with Defensive MVP honors at the 2003 Houston Bowl where he registered 7 tackles with 3 sacks for minus 15 yards, 4 stops for losses of 18 yards and a pass deflection.
A native of Fordyce, Ark., Williams came out of high school as one of the top prospects in the state of Arkansas. He came to OSU during the 1998 season where he redshirted before becoming a regular contributor to the OSU defense throughout his four-year career. Kevin Williams compiled 42 career starts and closed out his career with 160 tackles including 109 solos.
Kevin is currently a senior at Oklahoma State University and is expected to graduate this May along with all of his fellow Cowboy seniors. He will join the Vikings franchise to begin his rookie season on May 16th and will be wearing the number 93 when the Vikings kick off their 2003-04 season. Minnesota will open up the upcoming NFL season on Sunday, September 7, when they face off with rival Green Bay.
