2002: A second team All-Big 12 pick ... went 6-3 with a 4.23 ERA ... struck out 47 batters in 76.2 innings of work ... six wins tied for the team lead ... opponents hit .263 against him ... especially tough on righthanders, limiting them to a .228 clip against him ... led the team with three complete games ... struck out a season high six three times: Delaware (2/24), Nebraska (4/20) and Oklahoma (5/16) ... pitched 5.2 innings of three-hit shutout ball against Arizona State (3/10) and left with a 2-0 lead in the sixth ... pitched a three-hit, complete game shutout against Oral Roberts (4/15) ... pitched three consecutive complete games against Oral Roberts, Nebraska and Texas ... only allowed one earned run in eight innings against Texas (4/26), but took a 3-2 loss ... was a Cape Cod League All-Star and helped lead the Orleans Cardinals to the championship series ... HIGH SCHOOL: All-state, all-district and all-city performer as a senior at Captain Shreve High ... was a four-year letterwinner as a pitcher/shortstop ... led team to the state playoffs as a senior and finished the year with an 8-2 record on the mound while batting .455 ... was named a USA Today Honorable Mention All-American after senior year ...
