Miller is a reliable pitcher who will be expected to help the team as a starter or as a long reliever.
2002: Went 3-2 with a 4.00 ERA ... struck out 20 batters in 27 innings pitched ... seven of his nine appearances were starts ... picked up a win against Western Illinois (3/6) by giving up two hits in four innings and striking out two ... had his longest stint of the season working 4.1 innings and set a season high by striking out four against Memphis (3/27) ... received the win against Southern after 4 innings of work and only allowing one run ... strong student-athlete who was just short of making the Academic All-Big 12 team due to not enough time on the mound.
2001: Finished with a 2-2 record and 5.25 ERA ... third on team with 22 appearances, picking up saves against The Citadel (2/2), Miami (2/11), Missouri (2/25) and Princeton (3/9), tying him for the team lead with four ... also made six starts in 70.1 innings pitched ... struck out 58 batters while holding opponents to a .255 batting average ... earned the win in the second game of the series with Oklahoma (5/12) ... got his first start of the year in the second game against Texas A&M (4/21) ... picked up his first win in his longest outing of the season, pitching five innings of one-hit ball in the second game against Cleveland State(4/15) ... shutout the Tigers through the final four innings of the game to get his third save ... against The Citadel, Miller worked four shutout innings and struck out five ... also worked 1.2 scoreless innings against Miami ... was a second team Academic All-Big 12 selection ... played for the Kenai Peninsula Oilers in the Alaska League and help lead them to the championship.
2000: Started the season as a middle reliever but developed into a starter by the end of the season ... went 1-1 with a 2.52 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 35.2 innings pitched ... made four starts in 15 appearances and picked up first career save with 2.1 scoreless innings against Texas A&M (4/16) ... earned first career win over Iowa State (5/7), after scattering seven hits over five innings and giving up one run and striking out six with one walk ... other starts were against Missouri Southern (3/7), Purdue (4/28) and Texas Tech (5/14) ... only 10 of 25 runs given up were earned.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a three-year letterwinner at Tulsa Union High ... was an all-conference and all-metro pitcher in 1998 and 1999 ... went 7-0 with a 1.82 ERA with 55 strikeouts in 42.1 innings pitched in summer league play.
PERSONAL: His career goal is to be a professional baseball player ... a general business major ... son of Don and Jeannie Miller ... has one sister, Gina ... has a wife, Carissa, and was married on Sept. 27, 2002 ... enjoys playing golf and fishing in his spare time ... born on Nov. 25, 1980.
