OSU Career: In 2001, Simecka ran for the cross country team and ran a time of 19:11 in the 5k at the Cowboy Jamboree and a time of 24:41 in the 6k at the Chili Pepper. Junior College: Simecka was a two time All-American while attending Johnson County Community College ... she finished at the national junior college meet in both her freshman and sophomore years ... she won the Region VI cross country championship in 1999 and the 10,000-meter champ in 2000 ... she set a school record in the 5k with a time of 18:17. High School: She was named All-State all four years of high school ... her best time in the 2-mile run is 11:40 ... league cross country champ in 1995 ... Topeka city runner-up in 1996. Personal: Born on June 30, 1981 ... she is majoring in accounting ... she is in the honors program and a member of Phi Theta Kappa ... she served on the student senate one year ... Michelle has one sister, Andrea (25) and one brother, Travis (14) ... she is the daughter of Charles and Deborah Simecka.
