2002: Cox served as a backup at quarterback and became the holder for kicker Luke Phillips midway through the season. He saw action at QB in two games. He attempted a pass against Baylor and SMU to go along with a one-yard rush against the Mustangs.
2001: Was valuable to the Cowboys on the practice field and on the sideline last year.
At Ottawa: Transferred to Oklahoma State from Ottawa University where he competed in the fall of 1998.
High School: Three-year letterwinner at Owasso High School where he was All-State. Also lettered one season in baseball and played on state champion squad.
Personal: Born Oct. 13, 1977, in Muskogee, Okla. Son of Joyce and Mike Cox, who attended OSU. Michael lists his hobbies as hunting, fishing and playing the drums at church.
