2001-2002: Played two seasons at Cowley County College in Arkansas City, Kan. ... was a first-team JUCO All-American after batting .400 with 20 homers and 73 RBIs in 2002 ... As a freshman he hit .384 with 14 homers and was a 19th-round pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers ... also saw time on the mound compiling a 4-1 record and 2.91 ERA as a sophomore ... played for the Eldorado Broncos in summer ball in 2002 and hit .375 with 14 homers and 69 RBIs ... named the 50th best junior college prospect by Baseball America ... was also recruited by Alabama, Arkansas, Texas-Arlington and Michigan.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a three-sport athlete at Blue Springs High .... received a letter at quarterback in 1998 ... earned two letters as a forward in basketball ... was a first team all-area selection as a junior on the state championship baseball team ... was first team all-state, all-conference and all-area as a senior.
