Weaver moves into the starting rotation after spending his first two seasons as a reliever.
2002: Was 3-2 with a 4.01 ERA ... led the team with two saves ... threw 33.2 innings in relief with 25 strikeouts ... lefties hit just .222 against him ... led the pitching staff with 24 appearances ... his longest outing of the season was three innings, which he went against UNLV (3/9) and Texas Tech (3/15) ... was 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA in nine appearances in Big 12 play ... notched saves against UNLV (3/9) and Kansas State (3/23) ... played with Scott Baker on the Orleans Cardinals of the Cape Cod League ... was 2-3 with a 3.48 ERA in 33.2 innings ... received the teams Hossfeld Spirit Award, given to the player exemplifying hard work, sportsmanship, leadership and courage.
2001: Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America selection as a reliever ... Big 12 Freshman Co-Pitcher of the Year ... first team All-Big 12 selection ... sported an 8-0 record on the mound while carrying a 3.23 ERA ... has made 25 appearances, tallying 47.1 innings of work and striking out 35 ... got the win over Mississippi (5/25) in the first game of the NCAA regional ... made his first collegiate start in the championship game ... picked up a save against Oklahoma (5/12), striking out two batters in the final inning ... struck out two batters in 1.2 innings to get the win against BYU (5/1) ... got the wins against Arkansas(4/24) and in the finale of the Baylor (4/29) series ... picked up his third win against WIU (3/13), working three innings and striking out three ... earned the win against Texas(3/17) after hurling two scoreless innings ... picked up win No. 2 against Washington State (2/18) ... got his first career win against Boston College (2/9), pitching 3.1 innings and not allowing a run
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a three-year letterwinner in baseball and football at Stillwater High ... went 13-1 with a 2.52 ERA as a senior, earning all-conference and defensive MVP honors ... earned the Drew Williams Leadership Award and all-district plaudits as a free-safety in football ... played for the 2000 Stillwater American Legion team which claimed district honors ... named Brad Holt MVP after going 7-0 with a 1.21 ERA in legion play ... was a teammate of current Cowboy Josh Fields ... also considered Kansas, Baylor, Iowa State and Wichita State.
PERSONAL: His hobbies include golf and Sony Playstation ... a secondary education major ... son of Joe (Dad) and Patti Weaver (Stepmom) and Denise Weaver (Mom) and David Pitts (Stepdad) ... has one brother, John, and one sister, Hannah ... both parents attended Oklahoma State and currently work for the university ... born Aug. 17, 1981 ... favorite movies are Major League and Good Will Hunting ... favorite athletes are Lance Armstrong and Curt Schilling ... his dream job is to play professional baseball ... chose OSU because of its tradition and location.
