Cowboy Golf Wins Third Consecutive Tournament of Spring Season

OSU finished the tournament with a 22-under-par team total of 842 to edge out host-school Texas, which held a four-shot lead heading into the final day, by one stroke.
Cowboy junior Hunter Mahan notched a comeback win of his own in the individual race, blistering the par-72 Austin Country Club with a seven-under 65 during the final round to finish at 202, 14-under-par. The McKinney, Texas native started the day tied for fourth place and three shots off the lead before coming in two shots clear of second-round leader J.J. Wall of Texas.
Fellow junior Pär Nilsson maintained his position on the leaderboard, tying for seventh with a 54-hole total of six-under after carding a 71 on Tuesday, while true freshman Chris Clarke also held spot, tiying for 24th with a final-round 73 to finish the tournament at 217, one-over.
Sophomore Alex Norén tied with Clarke and two other players at one-over with a 73 during his last round, while redshirt freshman Zack Robinson rounded out the OSU lineup with a 77 to tie for 55th place at 223, seven-over.
The Cowboys will return to action on April 4 when they travel to Augusta, Ga., to take part in the Augusta State Invitational.
