King will start the season in middle relief and could possibly see time as a mid-week starter.

2001-02: Played at El Paso Community College in El Paso, Texas ... was the Pitcher of the Year in 2002 ... transferred to Oklahoma State at the end of the 2002 school year.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner at Cathedral High ... was the team’s most valuable player and was named the Player of the Year as well as to the all-state squad.

PERSONAL: Plans to major in business ... son of Drew and Dolores King ... born on Jan. 20, 1982 ... has one sister, Lisa Marie ... has a cousin, Jacob Valles, who played for Texas Tech in 2001-02 and who is now in the Kansas City Royals organization.
