Andrew Alexander, Athlete 5-10, 170, 4.4 Lawton, Okla. (Lawton) Talented prospect on either side of the football. Alexander rushed for 1,010 yards on 184 carries and scored 13 touchdowns during his senior season at Lawton High School. He was a first team All District selection and honorable mention All State by both the Daily Oklahoman and Tulsa World. As a junior, he rushed for over 1,800 yards and scored 18 touchdowns. Also a dangerous kick returner. As a junior, he averaged 35 yards per kickoff return and had one touchdown. In addition to OSU, Alexander was recruited by Nebraska, Kansas and Kansas State.
Eric Allen, WR 6-4, 185, 4.5 Colorado Springs, Colo. (Palmer) First team All Stater in Colorado who was also recruited by Colorado, Arizona State, Wyoming and New Mexico. Allen caught 60 passes for 1,019 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior and followed that with 971 yards as a senior. One recruiting service said this talented prospect has "great size and upside potential." At 6-4 and with a 4.5 in the forty, Allen certainly appears to have the tools and, at OSU, he'll practice with some of the best receivers in the country.
Jerome Bremby, L 6-5, 305, 5.2 Altus, Okla. (Altus) One of Oklahoma State's earliest commitments. Bremby is one of several very talented line prospects in the state and he'll arrive at OSU with imposing size and good speed. He was a first team All District pick out of Altus and was honorable mention All State by the Daily Oklahoman. Rated as a Top 20 Oklahoma prospect by First Down Sports and one of the top prospects in the state by Prep Star. Strength exhibited with 350-pound bench press.
Eddie Brown, WR 6-3, 190, 4.4 New Orleans, La. (Fortier) One of the top prospects in the state of Louisiana, Brown was named the winner of the Ryan Hill Award with goes to the top player in the state. His senior season statistics included 55 receptions for 695 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was rewarded by being named first team All District and All New Orleans. Also a Louisiana All Star game selection. Has excelled in the classroom and on the field and was also recruited by Michigan State, Colorado, Clemson and Tulane.
Rodney Brown, WR 6-4, 195, 4.5 Sapulpa, Okla. (Sapulpa) Talented receiver prospect who had an outstanding prep career. Before transferring to Beggs, he had 36 catches for 763 yards at Sapulpa. That's an average of 21.2 yards per catch and he had six touchdowns. Brown was also recruited by Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas State. Also excelled in track and field, registering a second place state finish in the high jump as a junior.
Ricky Coxeff, CB 5-11, 175, 4.4 Houston, Texas (Galena Park North Shore) Three-year starter at cornerback at Galena Park North Shore. He was second team All-Greater Houston and second team All State after his senior season. He had two interceptions in 2002, both of which he returned for touchdowns. He also had a 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in playoff game against Aldine Eisenhower. As a junior, Coxeff was a first team All District selection and finished with seven interceptions. Coxeff was also recruited by Mississippi State, Arizona, Iowa State and Wisconsin.
Maurice Cummings, DL 6-3, 260, 4.8 Rosebud, Texas (Rosebud-Lott) Oklahoma State battled TCU, Baylor and Houston for the college services of this talented defensive line prospect. His 4.8 speed is one of his many assets. Three-year starter at Rosebud-Lott and was rewarded with first team All District honors as both a junior and senior.
Victor DeGrate, LB 6-4, 230, 4.6 DeSoto, Texas (DeSoto) One of the most talented players in Texas, DeGrate committed to OSU in December. His resume is certainly impressive. He was Co-Defensive Player of the Year and first team All District after his senior season. Had more than 100 tackles as both a junior and senior, including 90 tackles and 30 assists last year. Had five sacks as a junior. One recruiting magazine labeled him one of the metroplex' top defenders in 2002. He has tremendous closing speed and great explosiveness which should make him a top-notch pass rusher. DeGrate was also recruited by Arizona, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas.
Tommy Deveraux, Ath. 6-1, 170, 4.45 Duncanville, Texas (Duncanville) One of the top overall athletes in the state of Texas, Deveraux chose Oklahoma State over Texas A&M. Finished the 2002 season with more than 1,000 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns while starting on both sides of the ball at Duncanville. Texas Football listed him as one of the state's top 15 receivers and he's a top 100 prospect according to the Dallas Morning News. Senior season marred by injuries but he still had one three-game stretch in which he had 14 carries for 306 yards and four touchdowns.
Marque Fountain, DL 6-2, 262, 4.9 Fort Bend, Texas (Hightower) Will come to Oklahoma State after an outstanding prep career at Fort Bend's Hightower High School. His senior season, Fountain registered 104 total tackles, including six sacks. He was first team All-Greater Houston and was the Most Valuable Player in his district. He was first team All District as both a junior and senior. Fountain was also a finalist for the Houston Touchdown Club's Defensive Player of the Year in 2002. In addition to OSU, Fountain was also recruited by Arizona, Iowa State, LSU, Texas Tech, Kansas and Colorado State.
Paul Francis, DB 6-2, 190, 4.45 Lawton, Okla (Eisenhower/Northeastern A&M) Francis will come to OSU after two outstanding years at Northeastern A&M. He was a starting corner at NEO the past two seasons. He helped lead the Golden Norsemen to an 11-1 record last year and Red River Bowl win over Erie C.C. He had three interceptions as a freshman. At Eisenhower High School in Lawton, Francis was one of the top defensive backs in the state. He was All State by both the Daily Oklahoman and Coaches Association and a Top 20 prospect by First Down Sports.
Mike Friess, QB 6-2, 215, 4.8 Wichita, Kansas (Bishop Carroll) One of the top quarterback prospects in the midwest, Friess will bring a strong and accurate arm to Oklahoma State this fall. He missed part of his senior season but still had impressive numbers, including 62 of 116 passing for 728 yards and seven touchdowns. All of this and he only threw two interceptions. Despite missing part of the season, Friess was a second team All District selection. As a junior, he passed for 1,528 yards and was the team's leading rusher.
Phillip Friess, L 6-3, 270, 5.1 Conway Springs, Kansas (Conway Springs) Outstanding size and speed and one of the top line prospects in Kansas. Three-year starter for Conway Springs which won back-to-back state championships. As a senior, Friess had 52 tackles and two sacks. His senior season on the field exploits earned him post season honors as a first team All State and first team All District selection. In addition to OSU, Friess was recruited by Colorado State, Vanderbilt, Wyoming and Kansas.
Brad Girtman, DT 6-6, 300, 4.95 Houston, Texas (Memorial) One of the most sought-after prospects in the country in 2002. Girtman was the Houston Touchdown Club's Defensive Player of the Year after a senior season in which he was nothing short of dominating. He had over 120 tackles and nine sacks as a senior and that followed a junior season in which he had 101 total tackles and six sacks. Other post season honors included first team All Greater Houston, first team All District and Texas Football Top 20 Defensive Linemen. Girtman chose Oklahoma State over Oklahoma, Nebraska, LSU, Florida and Texas Tech. His size and speed speak for themselves and he'll arrive at OSU after a high school career in which he was amazingly effective against the run.
Adam Gourley, OL 6-6, 270, 5.2 Fredonia, Kansas (Fredonia/Butler County C.C.) Outstanding prep career at Fredonia who spent the last two years at Butler County where he developed into one of the outstanding linemen in the junior college ranks. He was a two-year starter at Butler County and helped lead that team to the Jayhawk Conference Championship last season. Was All State and All District as a junior and senior at Fredonia High School. Gourley was also recruited by Florida, Southern Miss and Troy State.
Corey Hilliard, OL 6-6, 2990, 5.0 New Orleans, La. (Jesuit) Outstanding prospect out of Louisiana who will certainly fill a need for the Cowboys on the offensive front. Great speed and size. He had a stellar senior season after which he was named a first team All Stater by the Associated Press. He was also first team All-Metro by the New Orleans Times Picayune.
Jon Holland, DB 6-1, 190, 4.5 Oklahoma City (John Marshall/Northeastern A&M) Junior college transfer from Northeastern A&M and one of the top defensive back prospects in the juco ranks this season. Two-year starter for Dale Patterson at NEO and led the Norse defense in tackles in 2002. He also returned 19 punts for 121 yards, an average of 6.4 yards per return. He was first team All-Conference as a sophomore and played on an 11-1 NEO team that won the Red River Bowl. Was also outstanding at John Marshall High School where he was a three-year starter and earned All State and All District honors as a senior.
Grant Jones, Ath. 5-10, 185, 4.4 Pawnee, Okla. (Pawnee) Highly recruited prospect who is widely recognized as one of the top running backs in Oklahoma. He helped lead Pawnee to the 2A State Championship game. His senior season statistics include 2,481 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns. For his career, Jones had 5,329 yards rushing with 71 touchdowns and added 975 receiving yards to his totals. On the defensive side, Jones had 16 career interceptions, five of which he returned for touchdowns. He was first team everything and an All State pick by the Daily Oklahoman, Tulsa World and Coaches Association. Jones chose Oklahoma State over Nebraska, Kansas State, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Phillip Jones, WR 6-0, 180, 4.45 Denton, Texas (Ryan) OSU battled most of the Big 12 for the services of this talented wide receiver. His best high school season was his junior campaign where he had 50 passes for 1,060 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also returned 10 kickoffs for 290 yards and three punts for 78 yards and one touchdown. Named the Top Wide Receiver Prospect in Texas by Texas Football. Jones was also named All Area by the Dallas Morning News and second team All State by the Associated Press.
Robert Jones, CB 6-0, 190, 4.3 Midwest City (Carl Albert/Northeastern A&M) Oklahoma State looked to talent-rich Northeastern A&M for this defensive back prospect. Jones had magnificent careers at both Carl Albert High School in Midwest City and NEO. He was All State and All District and led Carl Albert in interception two straight years. At NEO, Jones intercepted two passes as a sophomore. He is also a dangerous kick returner and had 17 kickoff returns at NEO for 502 yards, including a 97-yarder he returned for a touchdown. OSU recruited Jones as did Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas State and Tennessee.
Xavier Lawson-Kennedy, DT 6-3, 305, 4.9 Duncanville, Texas (Duncanville) One of the top defensive line prospects in the country, Lawson-Kennedy has great size, incredible quickness and could immediately insert himself on the defensive front. He had over 120 total tackles, 17 tackles for loss and six sacks. Also recruited by Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Florida, Arkansas, Miami and Texas, Lawson-Kennedy was highly decorated after his senior season. He was a first team USA Today All American as well as first team All State in Texas by the Associated Press. He was also All State by the Dallas Morning News and was the District Defensive Most Valuable Player. Lawson-Kennedy was named to the Texas Football Super Team and listed as a Top 100 player, nationally, by the Dallas Morning News.
David Koenig, OL 6-5, 251, 4.9 Cape Coral, Florida (Cape Coral) Oklahoma State went to Florida to find this outstanding offensive line prospect. Great size and speed (4.9). Was a multi-year starter at Cape Coral High School and named first team All District after his senior season. He also was named a participant in the John Carrigan Florida All Star Game. In addition to OSU, Minnesota, Rutgers and Central Florida recruited this talented lineman.
Chijuan Mack, WR 6-3, 185, 4.5 Baton Rouge, La. (Woodlawn) Wide receiver prospect out of Louisiana who will bring great skills to Oklahoma State this fall. At 6-3 and with 4.5 speed, he's in the mold of other OSU receivers who have contributed a great deal. As as a senior at Woodlawn High School, Mack had 39 receptions for 814 yards and a school record 12 touchdowns. He was named first team All State by the Baton Rouge Advocate and was recruited by OSU, Tulane and Louisiana Tech.
Omar McKenzie, TE 6-4, 240, 4.8 Fort Bend, Texas (Dulles) Will come to OSU after developing the reputation as one of the top blocking tight ends in the region. Finished his senior season with six receptions for 159 yards, which is an average of 16.2 yards per reception. He also had two touchdowns. His efforts were rewarded by being named first team All District and first team All-Greater Houston. He was also listed as one of the Top 100 Texas Prospects by the Dallas Morning News and First Down Sports.
Efe Mowarin, DT 6-3, 295, 5.1 Tulsa (Memorial/Northeastern A&M) Defensive tackle who will come to OSU from Northeastern A&M. Mowarin was a big part of NEO's football success last season. He was honorable mention all-conference and a two-year starter for the Golden Norse. Came from Memorial High School in Tulsa where he was All State by both the Tulsa World and Coaches Association. He was all Metro and ranked as a Top 20 prospect in Oklahoma by First Down Sports.
Jeremy Nethlon, RB/DB 6-2, 183, 4.5 Beggs, Okla. (Beggs) One of the top high school prospects in Oklahoma, Nethlon is ranked high by all services. His senior season at Beggs, Nethlon had 190 caries for 1,667 yards and 15 touchdowns. He caught seven passes for 208 yards. On the defensive side, Nethlon had 167 total tackles with five sacks, six interceptions and two fumble recoveries. For his prep career, he had 3,477 rushing yards and 342 receiving yards. He also had 11 career interceptions and more than 300 tackles. He was All State by the Daily Oklahoman, Tulsa World and Coaches Association. Nethlon was also recruited by Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
Calvin Roberts, Ath. 6-1, 185, 4.45 Port Arthur, Texas (Memorial) One of the top prospects in south Texas. Roberts had a sensational senior season at Port Arthur's Memorial High School. He had 1,533 passing yards with 17 touchdowns and r rushed for 560 yards and seven more touchdowns. he was first team All District and second team All-Greater Houston. He was listed among Texas Football's top 15 quarterbacks. As a junior, Roberts rushed for 897 yards and had 16 touchdowns while completing 32 of 101 passes for 735 yards and six touchdowns. In addition to OSU, Roberts was recruited by Nebraska, LSU, Houston and Kansas.
Paschal Smith, TE/DE 6-4, 250, 4.8 Dallas, Texas (Carter) Outstanding tight end/defensive end prospect who had an outstanding prep career at Carter High School in Dallas. Great size, speed and strength. As a senior at Carter, Smith caught 11 passes for 250 yards and one touchdown. As a junior, Smith had 10 receptions for 270 yards and two touchdowns. He as first team All District. Smith was also recruited by Arkansas, Arizona, Baylor and Iowa State.
Tremayne Standberry, TE 6-4, 230, 4.8 Lewisville, Texas (Lewisville) Played mainly on defense at Lewisville High School but has outstanding potential on both sides of the football. As a senior, he registered 48 solo tackles and had seven sacks. He was first team All District and named to Texas Football's All Super Team as a second-team member. Listed by the same publication as one of the top 10 tight ends in Texas and was also a Top 100 prospect by the Dallas Morning News. Standberry was also recruited by LSU and Arizona State.
Jamie Thompson, DB 6-0, 185, 4.5 Sparr, Fla. (Sparr/Butler County C.C.) Defensive back who originally came out of Florida and spent the last two seasons at Butler County Community College. He was a standout at Butler County last season. He finished his sophomore year with 59 total tackles and 10 1/2 sacks for minus 41 yards. He also had a safety, two interceptions, caused one fumble and recovered another. He was named first team All-Jayhawk Conference after helping lead Butler County to a conference championship.
Donovan Woods, QB 6-3, 205, 4.5 Oklahoma City (Millwood) Perhaps the top recruit in the state of Oklahoma, Donovan will join his older brothers Rashaun and D'Juan in a Cowboy uniform. Woods' prep resume is amazing. He helped lead Millwood to three straight 2A state championships. His senior season statistics included 119 carries for 1,081 yards and 15 touchdowns. He completed 132 of 244 passes for 2,453 yards and 32 touchdowns and only threw six interceptions. For his career, he completed 59 percent of his passes for 5,617 yards and 80 touchdowns. He rushed for 2,339 yards and 28 touchdowns. He reaped virtually every high school award available. he was first team All State by the Tulsa World, Daily Oklahoman and Coaches Association. He was the Oklahoma Offensive Player of the Year by the Daily Oklahoman. He is also the defending state champion in the 110 meter high hurdles. Woods was also recruited by Oklahoma, Nebraska, Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida State and Miami.
