Cowgirl Harriers Take Second

The Cowgirls finished second to Southwest Missouri State. Southwest Missouri State's Rebekah Daro won the race with a time of 18:24. The Bears clinched the team title when a herd of runners crossed the line in the fourth through ninth positions.
The Cowgirls were led by junior Marie Nilsson's second place finish. She ran the 5k course in a time of 18:25. Nilsson edged senior teammate Ami Butler who had a time of 18:26. Senior Alexandra Lindquist, junior Sharalee Sparks and junior Catherine Clifford rounded out the scoring by finishing 10, 12 and 13th, respectively.
Junior Joanna Fedick, sophomore Lisa Bowles and senior Michelle Simecka also finished for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls have a weekend off before traveling across the Pacific Ocean for the Big Wave Invitational in Oahi, Hawaii on Sept. 21.
