Cowboys Complete Second Houston Workout
April 17, 2003 | Cowboy Football
The Cowboys practiced for more than two hours in full pads. It was the second Houston practice for the Pokes who arrived in south Texas early Saturday afternoon.
"I think we really got some things accomplished," OSU Head Coach Les Miles said after Sunday's workout. "It wasn't a perfect practice, but we've been able to accomplish quite a bit in the first two practices here."
After Sunday's workout, OSU players were given the rest of the afternoon off. A similar practice is scheduled for Monday. OSU's Monday and Tuesday practices will be in the Texans' facility before moving into the Astrodome for a Wednesday practice.
Several bowl functions will keep the Pokes busy away from the practice field, beginning with the Welcome Fest, scheduled for Monday night. Tuesday's schedule includes a trip to the Kemah Boardwalk for both teams. Christmas Day, 12 players each from OSU and Southern Miss will visit a local children's hospital.
OSU and Southern Miss will square off in the 2002 Houston Bowl Friday afternoon with kickoff scheduled for 12 noon. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
