Cowboy Wrestlers Fall in All-Star Match

Pendleton faced off with West Virginia's defending National Champion Greg Jones at 174 pounds, while Lawal met Lehigh's national runner-up Jon Trenge at 197 pounds.
Pendleton and Jones went scoreless in the first period. Jones struck first, scoring on an escape and a takedown to take a 3-1 lead heading into the third.
Jones recorded two more takedowns, including one a the buzzer, before notching the 7-3 decision over Pendleton, handing him his first loss of the season.
Lawal and Trenge had minimal scoring in the first period, with Trenge capturing the only offensive point with a takedown.
Trenge took a 2-1 lead heading into the second frame only to see Lawal slowly chip it away. Lawal cut the lead to 4-3 after recording his only takedown of the night.
Lawal sent the match into sudden victory after scoring an escape in the third. In sudden victory, Trenge notched a takedown with :13 left to take the 6-4 decision.
