OSU Men's Golf Team in Action Monday and Tuesday
April 15, 2003 | Cowboy Golf
The Oklahoma State men's golf team will travel to Austin, Texas, on Monday and Tuesday to compete in the Cleveland Golf/Morris Williams Intercollegiate. The 54-hole tournament will be played on the par-72, 6,813-yard course at The Hills of Lakeway.
The top-ranked Cowboys will face five other top-10 teams in the nation -- No. 2 UNLV, No. 3 TCU, No. 4 Arizona, No. 7 Texas and No. 9 Florida -- in addition to Houston, Oklahoma and Tulsa.
OSU will be trying to bounce back from a disappointing 11th-place finish at the March 14 and 15 Golf Digest Intercollegiate, which included each of the top-10 teams OSU will compete with this week. Arizona won that event.
The tournament, named for former Longhorn golf star Morris Williams, Jr., who died in a plane crash while in the Air Force in 1959, begins Monday with 36 holes. The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday.
