Nova Earns National Recognition

Oklahoma State defender Marcela Nová was named to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week and the Soccer America Team of the Week for her play during the opening weekend of Big 12 action.

A native of Plzen, Czech Republic, Nová plays a critical role in the Cowgirl backfield that has limited opponents to 66 shots in 10 games, including 21 shots on goal.

Last weekend, the defense gave up six shots on goal while shutting out Baylor and Texas Tech, 2-0.

The sophomore also scored her first goal of the season against Tech, netting the game winner midway through the second period.

Oklahoma State (10-0) looks to extend its winning streak on Friday when it squares off with Iowa State at 4 p.m. in Ames, Iowa.
