Mahan's U.S. Amateur Run Ends

Oklahoma State junior Landry Mahan's impressive U.S. Amateur performance ended in today's quarterfinals when he was defeated 5 and 4 by former UNLV star Bill Lunde.

Mahan, who was trying to become OSU's fourth Amateur champion, had defeated two higher-seeded players in his three victories leading up to today's match with Lunde, who defeated OSU sophomore Charles Howell on Thursday.

The OSU men's golf season opens Sept. 28-29, when the Cowboys compete in the Preview tournament at Hazeltine Country Club in Minneapolis.
