Cowgirls Shutout Malaga, 2-0

Sophomore forward Jolene Schweitzer provided the offensive power the Cowgirls, finding the back of the net twice in the first half.
Her first conversion came at the 27:12 mark on assists from junior forward Jere Boykin and sophomore defender Marcela Nova. Schweitzer scored again 12 minutes later on an assist from sophomore midfielder Krista Dedmon.
Senior Kat Doud and freshman Kendra Rainbolt combined for the shutout in goal. Doud earned the starting nod and Rainbolt played the final 45 minutes of the contest.
"The girls played well tonight. We are much farther ahead right now than we were last year," said Head Coach Karen Hancock.
The Cowgirls return to action Tuesday, August 6, when they face the Seville Women's Soccer Club at 12:30 p.m. (central).
