Cowgirl Soccer Defeats Northeastern State, 2-0
April 15, 2003 | Cowgirl Soccer
With the win, Oklahoma State remains undefeated at 7-0 and extends its home winning streak to four.
After not scoring a goal since the opening weekend of the season, Kim Graves came up big against NSU, scoring the game winner 16 minutes into the contest on an assist from Nikki Wojtowicz.
The Cowgirls had several opportunities to score in the contest, including two consecutive shots that hit the crossbar, but were forced to ride Graves' goal for much of the game.
With just under four minutes to play Carla Dolomont gave the Cowgirls the cushion they had been looking for all night, sending a shot into the upper net on an assist from Krista Dedmon.
Wednesday's game marked the sixth time in seven games that the Cowgirls have held their opponents to single-digit shots. The Lady Reds managed just five shots on the night, registering none on goal.
The shutout was the second of the season for senior goalkeeper Kat Doud, bringing her career total to 11, and giving her a share of the lead in the Cowgirl record books.
Oklahoma State (7-0) has one final non-conference test this weekend, traveling to Missouri to face Drury at 1 p.m. on Sunday, before opening its conference slate next Friday.
