Cowboys Open Spring Golf Season in Hawaii
April 15, 2003 | Cowboy Golf
The sixth-ranked OSU men's golf team opens the Spring 1998 season Wednesday when the Cowboys open play in the John A. Burns Intercollegiate.
OSU will try to duplicate last year's 11-stroke victory in the tournament; current senior Bo Van Pelt, ranked 97th nationally, won individual medalist honors in a playoff in the 1997 event.
This year's Cowboys, led by top-ranked sophomore Edward Loar, will battle several top teams in the Burns Intercollegiate, including top-ranked Arizona.
The tournament will be played at Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course (6,552 yards; par 72) in Honolulu. The teams will play single 18-hole rounds Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
