Cowboy Golf Finishes Sixth at Windon Memorial

The Cowboys seven-over-par round gave them a 54-hole total of 886, 22-over, and put them 38 shots behind tournament champion Northwestern. The Wildcats cruised to the team title, finishing 25 shots clear of second-place Duke.
NU's Tom Johnson fired a final-round 66, giving him a 10-under total and individual medalist honors.
True freshman Chris Clarke, competing in just his second collegiate event, led the way for OSU individually. The Rotherham, England native carded a one-over 73 on Tuesday to finish in a two-way deadlock for 15th place at three-over-par.
Dayton Rose, a sophomore from Midwest City, Okla., finished three strokes off Clarke's pace after carding a 76 during his final round to end play tied for 22nd at 222.
Fellow sophomore Alex Norén finished in a five-way tie for 25th place at 223, seven-over, after a final-round 75, while true freshman Michael Ostrich recorded the squad's only sub-par round on the day, a one-under 71, to move into a tie for 36th place at 227.
Redshirt freshman Zack Robinson rounded out the Cowboy lineup, posting a 77 on Tuesday to finish at 12-over and tied with three other players for 39th place.
OSU will return to action on Oct. 7-8 when it hosts the Ping-Golfweek Preview at Karsten Creek in Stillwater.
