April 14, 2003 | Cowboy Football
Oklahoma (3-6, 3-3 Big 12 South) is 13-0-1 in its last 14 games at Stillwater since a 15-14 loss in 1966. The Sooners lead the all-time series, 72-12-7, and avenged a 12-0 home loss last year.
Andre Richardson staked the Cowboys (4-6, 1-6 South) to a 7-0 lead with a 37-yard punt return for a touchdown with 4:56 to play in the first quarter. Oklahoma tied the game on Parker's first touchdown, an eight-yard run. He set it up with a 42-yard dash on the previous play.
Eric Moore replaced an ineffective Jason Fuente at quarterback and directed the Sooners on an eight-play, 80-yard drive. He completed a 16-yard pass to Mo Little and Parker added a 19-yard rush before Moore hooked up with Michael McDaniel on a 20-yard touchdown pass for a 14-7 lead with 43 seconds left in the first half.
In the third quarter, Parker capped a 68-yard drive with a seven-yard scamper up the middle to make it 21-7. Tim Sydnes booted a 26-yard field goal to pull Oklahoma State within 21-10, but Jeremy Alexander answered with field goals of 50 and 22 yards to give the Sooners a 27-10 lead with 12:02 to play.
The Cowboys capped the scoring on a seven-yard run by quarterback Tone' Jones with 5:41 remaining.
