Full Squad Goes Through First Workout
April 14, 2003 | Cowboy Football
Cooler than normal temperatures greeted Oklahoma State's 2002 football Cowboys as they went through their first full workout on Lewis Field Thursday morning.
The spirited, two-hour session began the first of nine days of two-a-days for the Cowboys, who open their season later this month at Shreveport against Louisiana Tech.
"There were certainly positives but I also see the areas where we have a lot of work to do," said second-year Cowboy coach Les Miles. "It was exciting to get this group on the field and get to work."
The Cowboys were scheduled for another workout Thursday afternoon and continue workouts in shorts and shoulder pads through Saturday. The first full-pad workouts are set for Monday, Aug. 12.
Oklahoma State's morning workouts on Lewis Field are open to the public while the afternoon sessions on the grass practice fields are closed.
